The AMC logo displays Meucci's photo on a background depicting a notarized drawing currently stored at the US National Archives. The scheme shown is that of Meucci's telephone application as conceived by him in 1857-1858.
It was 1849, in Havana (Cuba) that, for the first time, human voice passing though an electrified wire was heard from a distance.
The discovery occurred while Antonio Meucci was applying electric current during an electro-therapy session. That day, Antonio Meucci ascertained something previously unknown and unrecognized. His breakthrough, a major achievement and success, permitted further progress leading to ongoing improvements in his telephony research and development and to the evolving invention of the telephone. That year, Alexander G. Bell was 2 years old.
