A biographical note of Agnes Gucciardo
In the 1980’s Mrs. Gucciardo began working as a free-lance interpreter providing translation services from Hungarian or Italian to English or French. Immigration Canada and the Refugee Board as well as private institutions required such services.
Simultaneously, she began university courses as a part-time student, later full-time, and is now completing her program of major in translation and major in Italian studies.
She acquired experience initially to teach and tutor English, by assisting elementary grade teachers in the school ‘s enrichment programs. Because her work was stimulating, she followed a program to qualify herself as Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Mrs. Gucciardo has been successful in the teaching process, tutoring and teaching English to adults and children.
