Since 1971, the right of italo-canadians to be represented in community organizations and services was a tangible objective
 

The path leading to the appointment of an italo-canadian to the Board of Administration of Quebec legal aid was accomplished with a twist.  Inter-community "campanellismo" changed the outcome of who was to be named.

Outreach for representation in the legal sphere

 
The Quebec Charter of Human Rights was at its beginning.  Various organizations were providing input for consideration and inclusion.  The Italian community was represented by two organizations: the Movimento Progressista and COPRAS.  La Ligue des droits de l'homme coordinated the involvement of local community groups through meetings, workshops and exchange of documents.
